Things To Do

The Glas House is situated in the rural village of Brynteg just a 2 minute walk from The California Hotel, perfect for evening drinks or meals out. However, if you're in need of a cosy night in then a takeaway from the renowned Benllech Tandoori over the road will be just what you are after.

The 9 hole golf course at Storws Wen is located just across the road, so if you are a keen golfer don't forget to bring your clubs. Footgolf is also available for all the family to enjoy.

  • Beautiful flat sandy beach very popular for water sports, situated between Benllech and Moelfre.
  • At low tide the beach is part of the Anglesey Coastal Path.
  • Split in to two areas at high tide, a busy sandy area and a quiet secluded area.
  • Traeth Bychan Shop-Cafe-Pizzeria is located just behind the beach, where you can enjoy yummy hot chocolates and freshly made wood fired pizzas and many more delicious treats.
  • Toilet facilities and pay and display parking available.
  • Dog friendly all year round
Red Wharf Bay

  • Wide sandy beach between Pentraeth and Benllech
  • At low tide a huge expanse of sand reveals rock pools, perfect for the children to explore
  • The bay is a designated nature reserve attracting an abundance of birdlife
  • Enjoy food and drinks as you take in the scenery or watch the sunset in the gorgeous bay with a choice of eateries, including the Tavern on the Bay, The Ship Inn or The Boat House

Moelfre Beach

(10 Minutes)
  • Picturesque former fishing village with a long maritime history
  • Pretty shingle beach adjoining the village
  • Enjoy a cuppa and sweet treat at Ann’s pantry or a cheeky pint in the Kimnel Arms or maybe even visit the ice cream parlour. There is also a village chip shop!
  • Explore the history of the RNLI Lifeboat Station and the amazing work that the RNLI do, a great afternoon out with lots of interactive activities.

Lligwy Beach

(10 Minutes)
  • Stunning wide, sandy beach backed by low sand dunes
  • Toilets, car park and shop
  • During the summer months freshly baked oven fired pizza’s are available at Lligwy Cafe

Beaumaris

(20 Minutes)
  • Seaside town with a mix of medieval, Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture
  • Visit Beaumaris Castle and Beaumaris Gaol, an eerie Victorian prison complete with punishment cells
  • A variety of cafés, pubs and restaurants and excellent shopping from quality independent traders
  • Red Boat Ice Cream Parlour is always a hit with young and old!
  • Neptunes Fish and Chips is a must too!
  • Crabbing off the pier, the outdoor lido pool, play park
  • Seacoast Safari, spot the puffins on Puffin Island as well as seals and even dolphins along the way if you're lucky!
Menai Straits

Llanddwyn (Newborough) Beach

(45 Minutes)
  • Stunning long Blue Flag beach backed by Newborough National Nature Reserve and forest
  • Beach popular for kitesurfing
  • Excellent views of Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula
  • Newborough Forest is great for walkers, cyclists, runners, bird watchers and horse riders
  • Dog restrictions apply on the beach at certain times of the year

Local family attractions such as The Pili Palas Nature World, Foel Farm Park, Anglesey Sea Zoo, Greenwood Family Park, Model Village are perfect for a family day out.

Explore the historic estate Plas Cadnant with its stunning gardens, National Trust Plas Newydd House and Garden or the thrill seekers may prefer to visit the racetrack at Trac Môn Anglesey Circuit, Zip World Penryn Quarry or a little further away Zip World Forest. The spectacular mountains of Snowdonia are also accessible within an hours drive.

The Glas House is perfectly situated for exploring all of the beautiful Island.
